About IAAP

Iranian American Academics and Professionals (IAAP), formerly known as Iranian Academic Association-DC (IAADC), is a non-profit organization that aims to provide a medium for Iranian-American academics and professionals to interact and network on a local and national basis. We have been active since 2002 and have sponsored and held several annual gatherings and events including a half-day meeting on Knowledge Economy and a banquet with president of National Academy of Engineering.

IAAP is registered with State of Maryland as a non-profit, tax-exempt inc. under Section 501 (c)(3) of IRS.

Presently, an important activity of IAAP is the monthly lecture series which is open to the public. The lecture series provides a platform for the local professional community to listen to Iranian scholars and professionals presenting intriguing topics related to their field of expertise.

Another important annual activity at IAAP is the offering of student scholarship awards to a limited number of full-time undergraduate and graduate students studying in the universities located in the DC metropolitan area and the vicinity States. The application process and deadline are announced on our website.
