About the Lecturer:

S. Reza Ghasemian is an attending physician and Director of Transplantation Urology and Laparoscopic Urology at the Washington Hospital Center’s Department of Urology.
He received his medical school training from the National University of Iran (Shaheed Beheshti) and post-graduate training from two major hospitals in Tehran, and the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Ghasemian also completed a number of other certifications including American Board of Urology and transplant fellowship from the Washington Hospital Center.
Regionally, Dr. Ghasemian is one of the few physicians with extensive experience in laparoscopic kidney surgery as well as performing kidney and pancreas transplantation and treating patients with complex urologic disease.
Dr. Ghasemian is frequently published in the field of urology, authoring several articles in publications such as Clinical Transplant, the Journal of Urology, and Transplantation. His awards include “Meritorious Achievement Award, Transplantation Services from the Washington Hospital Center. He is a member of the American Urological Association, the National Kidney Foundation, the American College of Surgeons, and the American Society of Transplant Surgeons.
